Inspired by striptease “documentaries” on cable TV in the 70s, I made my first g-string with a cloth dinner napkin and paracord. I was a latchkey kid and had the house to myself until my parents came home in the evening. Spent most of my pre-pubescent and teen years frolicking around the house naked or in my makeshift g-string.

Similar to you I add my first thong when I was around 16 , I had received a birthday balloon made of the shiny metallic material. Afte a will it got deflated and I cut it up into a thong , damn I was so hard wearing it ! i however was inspired by neighbor girls who love to lay out in tiny bikinis !

When I was 11 or 12, I made my first gstring from scrap lace and elastic band I found in my mom’s sewing basket. I was inspired by the Sears Christmas and Frederick’s of Holly Wood catalogs.

I remember shopping at Frederick’s for men’s underwear. I recall buying and wearing a black pair and a red pair of silk thongs. They were so comfortable.

I had a blue and black tiger striped thong swimsuit from Frederick’s with front and rear “modesty” flaps that fluttered in the breeze exposing the thong underneath. Imagine a thong/loincloth. First thong I wore in public to beaches and swimming pools. The front flap kind of hid my upward pointing penis, but didn’t quite completely cover the lower pouch holding my balls. The rear flap was equally short and provided for somewhat of a cheeky look. Oh, those were the days
