Most of you guys on here are from US so I do feel for you and the "hostility" .. Looking for words to describe about men who "buck the system" and refuse to wear "dork shorts" Growing up in Australia in the 70/80s .. we all wore speedos. A great time. Nowadays.. the younger guys are towing the line so to speak .. mostly, but luckily in Aus us older guys can still enjoy wearing our speedos at the beach and pool. Kind of a "boomer" thing ...the younger ones condescending . That said.. I think if you're going to wear yr speedos in public.. need to hit the gym and stay in some kind of shape ... and shave.. or at least manscape. I'm totally smooth waist down and have generally found comments positive.. especially from older ladies.

Yes, very true. Americans are so hung-up on the male body. When I've traveled to other countries, it's so refreshing to be able to wear bikini suits to the beach or pool.

Italy: I went scuba diving in a bikini with two other guys who were in trunks -- short but loose. The dive was in the bay, not too deep, so the water was warm (this was summer and during a heat wave). After the dive we went back to the beach, sat around a table and drank espressos (the Italians know how to live, right?). We were still in our swim gear, so I was the guy in the bikini and no one cared.

Hungary: At a big outdoor public pool in Budapest, guys have to wear bikini suits. Mine was green with a pouch. No one cared.

Greece: When I was in college I wore a Speedo bikini to the beach. Totally normal for guys. A pretty girl who was topless, and not skinny (!), sat down next to me to chat!

Cuba: Wearing a bikini I strolled along the shore, and actually got a whistle! No one was in board shorts. A few guys in trunks, others in bikinis.

Québec: At a hotel pool on the roof, I wore a pretty daringly skimpy bikini; it was night, so it wasn't quite so obvious to the dozen or so in the pool. But even getting in and out, no one cared either.

Australia, Gold Coast: There for a conference in the winter, the water was too cool for me and I had little time, but about half the guys were in either bikinis or square cuts. Interestingly, all of them wore black suits.

Wales: Went to the hotel pool, where probably ten adults were either splashing in the pool, laughing in the hot tub, or relaxing on the pool deck. I was the only male in a bikini (the other men had paunches), but no one looked twice as I got in for lap-swimming. A pretty young woman, around 25, got in for lap-swimming too; she was quite slim and looked heavenly in a light blue one-piece. Didn't care what I was wearing.

Estonia (on the Baltic Sea): Guys in bikinis were no big deal, and in fact the pretty Estonian girls kept smiling at me as I walked by in my snug bikini.

Moscow: On an overnight stay with a family, the neighbors invited us to go swimming in the river (it was a hot day). I said I hadn't brought a swimsuit, they said just swim in your underwear! Luckily I was wearing a bikini brief because if I'd been any more covered I'd have been the weirdo. (And I kick myself for not packing a proper little swim bikini.)

USA: If your thighs aren't covered you must be pervert! lol

Years ago my wife and I would vacation at Orient Beach in St. Martin. Every day around noon there would be a middle aged couple (both in very good shape) who would come walking down the beach wearing matching thongs. Every day a different color, everyday matching. It may sound kind of corny but these two managed to pull it off quite well. Before we left we had matching thongs custom made for ourselves: metallic purple, a classic thong for her and a very brief g-string for me. They look good on us and we both feel very good wearing them. Schmaltzy? Maybe but the beach is for fun and we certainly do have our share in our matching thongs.

What i seen and experienced is not do half ass measures wearing semi sexy clothes. Either dive in deep end or not at all.

It’s about confidence what i’m wearing. Speedo brief can be scandalous in some peoples view. Try not to appease those that find modest swimwear taboo.
In fact i turn on volume pushing boundaries of balancing vulgarity to obscenity. Finding environments that welcome my sense of style.

Most important have the balls to show off your body. Confidence is key once that obstacle is conquered nothing bothers you.

Wearing bulge thong might shock or frighten some modest folk. Only because i wear it such a way not to care what others will say or think.

Always look at someone that protest my sexy swimwear gauging their body. If they criticize me for what i wear because i appear like train wreck i might wear something modest. Since i don’t, looking better than most, none can say something bad.
If gal gives me the evil eye i just stare upon what she has on examining her body in every detail. This sends message she is not perfect far from it. How dare she be critical not taking speck out of her own eye.
However few times i notice perfect gals body and she is critical of me i do feel slightly uncomfortable. Those are rare times since many of populous is in poor shape.
Better body is license to wear to flaunt everything you have. Same is true with women as well. Most gals won’t attempt thonging unless they feel confident with their body.

Often i try to outdo gals in skimpy swimwear wearing styles and colors they can enjoy and be jealous.
Once i fashion myself with envy from fashionistas what i wear isn’t critical but enjoyed.

Yeah Women wear Men's Jeans, T shirts, flannel shirts and boxer shorts Nobody says a word. But men wear thongs or bikini underwear and they're scorned.

That might have been my wife and I except we’ve never been to Orient Beach. We have been on many vacations to the sunny south and we only wear thongs on the beach or poolside. I think it’s great fun when we wear matching suits although our choices are limited to two, zebra and leopard print. I would NEVER even contemplate wearing board shorts. I do have a few Speedo type suits for when we’re hosting a pool party and I know some of our attendees would be uncomfortable if I was wearing a thong.

Well Bruce if you think your stuff is too conservative there are two shops right on the beach that can help you out, Adam & Eve sells pretty much nothing but thongs and g-strings for men and women. Also Luiz Gomes is famous throughout the Caribbean for his custom made swimwear - he's right in the same area as Adam & Eve - just look for his sign. Between the two you will find something that works for you. By the way, if you think wearing anything is too conservative the southern third of Orient Beach is nude. It sounds like you'd fit right in. By the way thongslut2 definitely knows what he's talking about. Club Orient was a unique place, I feel bad for anyone who missed out on it. I’ll have to look into going there. I’ve always wanted to push the boundaries, perhaps a sheer gstring with a hint of cockring showing. I don’t think it would take long before I was hard, is that a common sighting ?

As far as underwear goes, I've never had a negative reaction from a woman who has seem me in bikinis or thongs. Afew thought it was sexy, most just seemed kind of bemused by it.

With all the "Karens" here in the US, you run the risk of them taking a pic of you and your bulge then publicly shaming you in an online forum. Not worth the risk

If any Karen’s would attempt it would backfire on her with regards to look at my body.

Many women hide true feelings what they observe in public with regards to a male. Only because gal will be embarrassed what they are focused upon on the male anatomy.

Karen at a pool called management complaining about my swim briefs. Crying that i was naked. Mangers came into sauna to look at me but find i had on swim briefs.
They did nothing but reprimanded her lies.

Later while i was showering on the pool deck Karen cried out for help. Saying to ladies standing around the entire pool deck. Man is wearing too little or not covering enough.

One gal responded out loud. He certainly has a lot to coverup… To that, roar of laughter erupted with ladies around the pool.

Shows me only Karen’s get any traction with men who are out of shape appearing awful. When gals find makes body attractive they stay mute. Appearing to mind their business but reality living his exhibitionism as eye candy. Never would gal admit it. Certainly won’t side or support a Karen.
