My father really hated spending money or throwing things away. When my mother bought us both white bathing suits for us because they were on a big sale, he wore the damn thing until it wore out, even though it looked transparent and showed what he and my mother called his "athletic supporter". He hadn't started buying jocks for me so I basically had everrything showing in the white bathing suit that was transparent when wet.
